Sweet French Toast
For Mother’s Day, I was given a subtle hint that French Toast would be a good breakfast plan. So in order to do this, I baked Fruit Bread.
Of course using Fruit Bread requires that one make a sweet egg mix for the French Toast, so this is indeed what I did.
This is a small recipe which makes about 3 or 4 slices of French Toast.

h2. Ingredients.
* 3 eggs
* 2 teaspoons of raw castor sugar
* half a teaspoon of vanilla essence
* splash of milk
* three or four slices of fruit bread
* butter for frying
Beat together all the ingredients except the fruit bread and butter.
Soak a slice of fruit bread in the egg mixture and fry in a pan with butter turning one so that each side is golden brown.
Serve with cream and maple syrup.

This looks lovely! Just the kind of breakfast (or “tea” dinner) I’d love when I need gastronomic pampering! Of course, in Canada real maple syrup is a must over anything like French toast or pancakes. Next time I bake my variation of fruited bread, I will definitely give this recipe a try.
